Smart Address Version 3.2 for Windows 3.x is a flexible Address and Contact management package for Windows. Version 3.2 builds on the success already achieved by previous releases, and adds major new functionality without sacrificing the flexibility, speed and ease of use that has already made it the product of choice for thousands of satisfied individual users and major multinational corporations.

With the addition of sophisticated calendar features, telephone call logging and contact tracking functions the software is ideal for a whole range of users who operate in a ‘people-centric’ way. Add to that powerful new features such as a DTP style drag ‘n drop page designer for envelopes, listings and reports; and truly useful features such as document association which allows the attachment of letters, spreadsheets or even mugshots to individual records and it is not difficult to see the multitude of uses to which the product can be put.

Smart Address Version 3.2 is extremely flexible and allows the user to define different "templates" to use for storing address details, in whatever way makes sense for his particular circumstances. Need ten phone numbers for one entry, multiple addresses for another, want somewhere to record dates of last contact, or what products a client has purchased? You can configure Smart Address to do all of these things and much more. Further, this configuration is not a global "all or nothing" option - you can set a default configuration and then vary it even down to individual records if that is a more sensible way of working.

Indexing is extremely flexible too - you can index the records on almost any field you want - the first name, the last name, company name or even by zipcode or the last contact date if that makes sense for a particular application. Again, you can set a global index field and vary it for individual records.

Powerful searching functions make it easy to find particular entries, and search criteria can be stored for future re-use. Record categories allow the user to categorise records by some criteria that makes sense to him. Records can be associated with none, one or many categories. Examples of categories could include people on your Christmas Card list, customers who receive a monthly mail-shot, people who have bought particular products, or almost anything else.

A calendar view consolidates date and time related information from all open address books and from the stand-alone diary which can hold events not directly associated with a particular address record (car servicing for example?). The usual pop-up reminders with advance warnings are incorporated, and when viewing an event or prompted by a reminder you can jump straight to the associated address record from the context menu attached to the right mouse button.

All the usual elements of a modern Windows application, such as toolbars, fly-by hints, and context sensitive pop-up help are included making Smart Address easy to use even considering the rich functionality it has.
